Cars for platforms in Paraguay (2026): which one to buy for Uber, Bolt, or MUV.

Cars for platforms in Paraguay (2026): which one to buy for Uber, Bolt, or MUV.

October 23, 2026

If you are looking for cars for ride-sharing platforms in Paraguay, that is, a car to work with Uber, Bolt, or MUV, the important question is not which one is the prettiest or the most equipped. For someone who is going to drive eight or ten hours a day, what matters are fuel consumption, maintenance, spare parts, reliability, comfort, and purchase price.

A car that consumes just a few more liters every 100 kilometers can cost you millions of guaraníes extra per year. And a cheap car that spends time in the workshop ends up being more expensive than another that cost a little more when purchased.

For this guide, we reviewed the official requirements of the three platforms and analyzed 1,856 active car listings on Ajogua to show you which platform cars are actually for sale, how many units exist, and at what price.

Updated on October 23, 2026. The requirements for Uber, Bolt, and MUV may vary by city, category, and date. Quantities and prices correspond to active listings on Ajogua on that date.

Quick answer

  • More options and low consumption: Toyota Vitz, with 112 units 2008+ and an average price of Gs. 49 million.
  • Best sedan balance: Hyundai Accent, almost all units 2012 or newer, average Gs. 58 million.
  • More trunk space: Toyota Allion and Premio, but almost all units are 2008–2011.
  • More interior space: Toyota Ractis and Toyota Auris.
  • Newer, for Comfort categories: Chevrolet Onix, all units 2019 or later.
  • Lower investment: Kia Picanto and Hyundai i10, starting from about Gs. 20–30 million.
  • Accessible hybrid: Toyota Aqua (Gs. 60–65 million) before a hybrid Corolla (from Gs. 95 million).

Requirements to work on platforms in Paraguay: Uber, Bolt, and MUV (2026)

The most important

Do not buy a car for the platform without first confirming that the unit can be registered. The ad does not guarantee it: the platform decides.

Platform Minimum year Key vehicle requirements
Uber 2008 Engine of 1,000 cc or more, 4 doors, luggage space, dual front airbags, and ABS
Bolt 2005 (Comfort 2017, Business 2020) Green ID; air conditioning mandatory in Asunción
MUV 2000 (MUV category 2007–2011, Comfort 2012) 4-door car; air conditioning for MUV and Comfort categories

In practice, the most demanding requirement for a regular car is that of Uber. A car that meets Uber's requirements usually also qualifies for Bolt and MUV, as long as it has air conditioning. If you want to work on all three platforms at once, choose the car with Uber in mind.

Car requirements for Uber Paraguay

  • Year: model 2008 and onwards.
  • Engine: 1,000 cc or larger.
  • Body: 4 doors and luggage space.
  • UNASEV Safety: dual front airbags, ABS, and others.
  • Documents: driver's license, RUC, background check, vehicle registration, civil liability insurance, and passenger accident policy.

Watch out for engine displacement

Some engines sold as "1.0" actually have 998 cc. If you are looking at a small car, check the exact displacement on the green ID and confirm with Uber before paying.

See current requirements on Uber Paraguay

Car requirements for Bolt Paraguay

Bolt requires a green ID and a car manufactured in 2005 or later. Then it adds conditions based on the category:

Category Minimum year Other conditions
Bolt Base2005Air conditioning mandatory in Asunción
Economy2005Greater Asunción, Encarnación, and Ciudad del Este
Bolt L2005Spacious car for 4 passengers with luggage and air conditioning
Bolt Comfort2017 (2014 in CDE and Encarnación)Spacious car, air conditioning, and minimum rating of 4.8
Bolt Business2020Minimum rating of 4.9

See current requirements on Bolt Paraguay

Car requirements for MUV

MUV is the Paraguayan platform and the most flexible regarding the year: it accepts 4-door cars manufactured since 2000 and assigns the category based on the model.

  • Economical: cars from 2000 onwards.
  • MUV: cars from 2007 to 2011 with air conditioning.
  • Comfort: cars from 2012 onwards with air conditioning.
  • Documents: identity card, driver's license, background check, green ID, and account in ueno bank. Motorcycles are not accepted.

MUV also announces that in Asunción and Encarnación, the driver keeps 90% of the earnings. See current requirements on MUV

What does "special for platform" mean in an ad

In Paraguay, you will see many ads that say "special for platform". It is the way sellers indicate that the car is economical and suitable for working with apps.

But it is a sales phrase, not a guarantee: what matters is whether the unit meets the requirements. For example, on Ajogua, there is a Hyundai Eon listed as "special for platform", and many versions of the Eon have engines of less than 1,000 cc, below Uber's minimum.

What to always ask

Exact year, engine displacement, airbags, ABS, air conditioning, and whether the green ID and registration are up to date.

Do not buy the minimum year just because it is still allowed

A 2008 car meets Uber's requirement today, but you are buying a work tool that you will want to use for several years. The platforms can raise their requirements, and the car also ages.

There is also a concrete reason to look for 2012 or newer: from that year, the car enters MUV's Comfort category and gives you several years of leeway with Uber.

What Ajogua's data shows

Of the 30 Toyota Allion 2008+ listed, only 2 are 2012 or newer, and of the 14 Premio, only 1. In contrast, 64 of the 112 Toyota Vitz and 25 of the 26 Hyundai Accent are already 2012 or newer.

What really matters in a platform car

  • Consumption: if you drive many kilometers per day, small differences add up very quickly.
  • Reliability: a day in the workshop is a day without generating income.
  • Spare parts: a common model in Paraguay that is easy to repair is preferable.
  • Purchase price: the more capital you immobilize, the more the car has to produce.
  • Comfort: after eight or ten hours of driving, seat, suspension, and space stop being details.
  • Passenger and luggage space: a city car consumes little, but may be too small for trips to the airport or terminal.
  • Air conditioning: in Paraguay, it is not optional, and Bolt and MUV require it in several categories.
  • Resale: what you recover when selling is part of the car's real cost.

How much fuel does a platform car consume

When updating this guide, Petropar publishes Nafta Oikoite 93 at Gs. 7,490 per liter. We use that price only as a reference to compare consumptions; the correct fuel depends on each engine, and the price varies by date and brand (see current prices from Petropar).

Consumption Every 100 km Per day (250 km) Per month (26 days)
6 L/100 kmGs. 44,940Gs. 112,350Gs. 2,921,100
7 L/100 kmGs. 52,430Gs. 131,075Gs. 3,407,950
8 L/100 kmGs. 59,920Gs. 149,800Gs. 3,894,800
10 L/100 kmGs. 74,900Gs. 187,250Gs. 4,868,500

This is a mathematical example, not the consumption of a specific model. Traffic, air conditioning, driving style, engine, transmission, and mechanical condition change the actual consumption.

The difference

Between a car that consumes 6 liters and another that consumes 10 liters every 100 km, there is almost Gs. 1,950,000 per month difference just in fuel.

The best cars for platforms in Paraguay, with real prices

There is no single winner. Those who want to spend the least need something different from those who prioritize comfort, trunk space, or Comfort categories. These are the models we would look at first, ordered by how sensible they are in the Paraguayan market today.

1. Toyota Vitz: the car for platforms with the most options

Toyota Vitz for platform published on Ajogua
Real example published on Ajogua

The Toyota Vitz combines compact size, 1.3 and 1.5 engines known for their reliability, low consumption, and easily obtainable spare parts. It is, by far, the model with the most eligible units per year on Ajogua.

On Ajogua today: 112 Vitz model 2008 or later, 99 of them automatic. Half of the cash listings are between Gs. 45 and 55 million. Examples: a 2010 automatic for Gs. 34 million, several 2012 automatic 1.3 between Gs. 48 and 50 million, a 2015 automatic for Gs. 58 million and a 2018 automatic with 45,800 km for Gs. 65 million.

The difference compared to an Accent or a Picanto: many Vitz in the Paraguayan market are imported vehicles from Japan. It is not enough for it to say "Vitz" and have the correct year; the specific unit must have dual airbags, ABS, and proper documentation. Two alternatives from the same family: the Toyota Belta, a sedan version with a separate trunk (6 units, all 2008–2011), and the Toyota IST, a bit more spacious (8 units, most between Gs. 44.5 and 60 million).

Ideal for: urban work with automatic transmission and low maintenance cost.

What to check

Eligibility before buying, airbags, ABS, steering conversion, actual mileage, automatic or CVT transmission, and air conditioning.

2. Hyundai Accent: the best balance for daily work

Hyundai Accent for platform published on Ajogua
Real example published on Ajogua

If you are looking for comfort, trunk space, reasonable price, and known maintenance, the Hyundai Accent is very high on the list. It has more space than a city car, costs much less to maintain than an SUV, comes with left-hand drive from the factory, and mechanics and spare parts suppliers know it well. Additionally, almost all units are 2012 or newer, so they qualify for MUV Comfort and give you more years of leeway with Uber.

On Ajogua today: 26 Accent 2008+, 25 of them 2012 or newer and 19 automatic. Half of the cash listings are between Gs. 45 and 75 million. Examples: a 2012 automatic with 90,000 km for Gs. 40 million, a 2018 manual 1.6 with 49,000 km for Gs. 46.5 million and a 2019 automatic with 50,200 km for Gs. 72 million. The 2017 and later units can also serve for Bolt Comfort in Asunción.

Ideal for: full-time platform driver who wants a balance between economy and comfort.

What to check

Air conditioning, front end, transmission, maintenance history, and airbags and ABS of the specific version.

3. Toyota Allion and Premio: large trunk, but just the right age

The Toyota Allion and the Toyota Premio are medium-sized Japanese sedans highly sought after for platforms: spacious trunk, comfortable rear seat, reliable 1.5 and 1.8 engines, and automatic transmission in almost all units.

On Ajogua today: 30 Allion 2008+ (half between Gs. 53 and 68.5 million) and 14 Premio 2008+ (between Gs. 47.5 and 65 million). Examples: an automatic 1.8 Allion 2008 for Gs. 45 million, an Allion 2011 with 80,000 km for Gs. 62 million and a Premio 2010 with 75,200 km for Gs. 54 million.

The problem is the age: almost all available units are 2008–2011, right on the Uber limit and outside of MUV Comfort. They are excellent cars, but you pay quite a bit for a vehicle that could be out of the platform before a newer Vitz or Accent.

Ideal for: trips with luggage, like to the airport or terminal, and those who prioritize rear comfort.

What to check

Exact year, airbags and ABS, steering conversion, automatic transmission, suspension, and actual mileage.

4. Toyota Ractis: more interior space for just a bit more than a Vitz

Toyota Ractis for platform published on Ajogua
Real example published on Ajogua

The Toyota Ractis sacrifices some of the economy of the Vitz for a much taller and more spacious cabin. Tall passengers fit more comfortably, and there is more flexibility for luggage.

On Ajogua today: 57 Ractis 2008+, 49 automatic, with half of the listings between Gs. 37.5 and 50 million. Examples: a 2009 automatic 1.5 for Gs. 33.5 million, a 2012 automatic 1.3 with 53,200 km for Gs. 47.8 million and a 2015 automatic 1.5 for Gs. 55.9 million. Only 18 are 2012 or newer, so it is advisable to filter by year.

Its size may help you for Bolt L, but the category is defined by the platform, not the size perceived by the buyer. If you need even more space, the Toyota Sienta (20 units, average Gs. 47 million) is another option to consider.

Ideal for: those who prioritize space but want to stay in a compact car.

What to check

CVT, steering conversion, mileage, air conditioning, ABS, airbags, and eligibility.

5. Toyota Auris: more comfort and newer units

Toyota Auris for platform published on Ajogua
Real example published on Ajogua

The Toyota Auris is a medium hatchback with more space and better road handling than a Vitz. It is the second model with the most options on Ajogua and, unlike the Allion, has many units from 2012 onwards.

On Ajogua today: 67 Auris 2008+, 34 of them 2012 or newer and 59 automatic. Half of the listings are between Gs. 55 and 70 million. Examples: a 2010 automatic 1.5 with 85,000 km for Gs. 50 million and a 2014 automatic 1.5 with 54,000 km for Gs. 72 million.

Ideal for: full-time platform driver who wants more comfort without moving to a large sedan.

What to check

The same as for any Japanese vehicle: eligibility, airbags, ABS, conversion, CVT, and air conditioning.

6. Chevrolet Onix: the newest option, for Comfort categories

Chevrolet Onix for platform published on Ajogua
Real example published on Ajogua

The Chevrolet Onix is a different alternative: instead of a used Japanese car from 2010, you buy a car from 2019 onwards, with the backing of the official network and spare parts from a very popular model. This gives you many years of leeway and qualifies you for categories with high minimum years, such as Bolt Comfort (2017+), Bolt Business (2020+) or MUV Comfort (2012+).

On Ajogua today: 14 Onix and Onix Plus, all 2019 or newer and 9 automatic. Examples: a 2019 manual with 52,000 km for Gs. 29 million, a 2022 manual with 27,000 km for Gs. 46.5 million and a 2020 automatic for Gs. 58.5 million. There are also dealership units listed in dollars, including some 0 km.

Ideal for: those who want a new or almost new car and aim for higher categories.

What to check

Version and safety equipment, service history, condition of the automatic transmission, and whether the unit has a valid warranty.

7. Kia Picanto and Hyundai i10: the lowest initial investment

The Kia Picanto and the Hyundai i10 / Grand i10 are the ones you will see most advertised as "special for platform" when the goal is to minimize the initial capital. They are easy to park, simple to maintain, and from brands with a strong presence in Paraguay.

On Ajogua today: 11 Picanto 2008+ (average Gs. 37 million) and 7 i10 / Grand i10 (average Gs. 25 million). Examples: a 2014 Picanto manual for Gs. 28.5 million, a 2022 1.0 Picanto with 40,000 km for Gs. 37 million, a 2012 1.0 i10 for Gs. 24.5 million and a 2015 automatic Grand i10 for Gs. 33.5 million.

Two clear disadvantages: they are small, and with four adults and luggage, they fall short compared to an Accent or a Rio; and almost all are manuals: only 1 Picanto and 1 i10 of the published ones are automatic.

Ideal for: primarily urban work with the lowest possible cost.

What to check

Clutch, suspension, air conditioning, and, in the most basic versions, airbags, ABS, and that the engine displacement reaches 1,000 cc.

8. Kia Rio: more comfortable without going for an SUV

Kia Rio for platform published on Ajogua
Real example published on Ajogua

The Kia Rio makes sense if you want more space than in a Picanto without moving to a large vehicle. It works well for those who mix short city trips with longer routes.

On Ajogua today: 11 Rio 2008+, 6 automatic, average Gs. 56 million. Examples: a 2013 automatic for Gs. 45 million, a 2015 automatic for Gs. 56 million, a 2020 manual with 50,000 km for Gs. 58 million and a 2021 automatic with 60,000 km for Gs. 80 million.

Ideal for: balance between comfort, space, and cost.

What to check

Transmission, front end, air conditioning, and previous services.

9. Toyota Aqua and hybrid Corolla: for those who drive a lot of kilometers

For intensive urban use, a hybrid can significantly reduce fuel expenses. The interesting thing is that today you don't need to go for a Corolla: the Toyota Aqua is a compact hybrid that is much cheaper.

On Ajogua today: 5 Aqua 2012–2014, with hybrid units between Gs. 60 and 65 million, compared to 3 hybrid Corollas 2020–2022 between Gs. 95 and 119 million. There is also a 2017 Prius for Gs. 93 million.

But a used hybrid is evaluated differently: the condition of the hybrid battery is as important as that of the engine. Do not buy one just for the expected savings without a diagnosis of the system.

Ideal for: full-time driver with many urban kilometers per month.

What to check

Hybrid battery and system diagnosis, history, transmission, suspension, and air conditioning.

Other platform cars you can also consider

The Suzuki Swift is efficient for the city, but today there are only 3 units (2010–2015, Gs. 36.5–55 million). The Volkswagen Gol has 9 units 2012 and onwards around Gs. 42–49 million, although all are manual. If you find a good unit of either, they can be valid; there are simply fewer to compare.

Summary: which car to choose for the platform based on your case

What car to buy for the platform based on your budget

Platform car up to Gs. 30 million

Here appear Hyundai i10 (Gs. 19.5–28.5 million), Kia Picanto 2008–2017 and some Toyota Ractis 2008–2011 from Gs. 22 million. There is also a Chevrolet Onix 2019 manual near Gs. 29 million. In this range, you need to be very careful with the age: a car too close to Uber's limit saves money today but leaves you with fewer useful years on the platform.

Platform car between Gs. 30 and 50 million

This is the range with the most options for work: Toyota Vitz 2008–2013, Toyota Ractis, Picanto 2019–2022, Hyundai Accent 2012–2018, Onix 2021–2022, Toyota Sienta and some Premio 2008. For us, this is where the best relationship between initial capital and work tool appears.

Platform car between Gs. 50 and 80 million

You can now be selective: Vitz 2014–2018, Auris 2012–2014, Allion and Premio, Accent automatics 2014–2019, Kia Rio 2015–2021, Onix 2020 automatic and Toyota Aqua hybrid. If you are going to work full-time, it may make more sense to pay for a well-maintained and comfortable unit than to buy cheaper and spend later on repairs.

More than Gs. 80 million

Appear hybrid Corollas 2020–2022 (Gs. 95–119 million), a 2017 Prius and 0 km Onix from the dealership. But do not confuse "best car" with "best investment for work": a Gs. 115 million car must justify against a Gs. 50 million one the additional Gs. 65 million of capital.

Manual or automatic for working on the platform?

For intensive urban work, an automatic makes a huge difference in comfort. Spending hours in Asunción traffic using a clutch is tiring. The market also pushes in one direction: almost all Vitz, Ractis, Auris, Allion, and Premio are automatic, while Picanto, i10, and Gol are almost always sold as manuals.

But a neglected automatic or CVT can lead to expensive repairs. The rule is not "automatic is better," but: an automatic in good condition and with verifiable maintenance is better for working many hours. Test that the transmission does not hit, does not slip, does not take time to engage D or R, and does not have noises or warning lights.

Is a Japanese vehicle worth it for the platform?

It can be very worthwhile: Vitz, Ractis, Auris, Allion, and Premio are the models with the most supply on Ajogua. But for platforms, you need to check more things than for personal use, because the specific unit must meet safety and documentation requirements.

  • Steering conversion: how and where it was done.
  • Airbags and ABS: present and functioning.
  • Mileage: actual wear, not just what the dashboard shows.
  • Air conditioning and transmission: automatic or CVT in good condition.
  • Documents: green ID, registration, and exact eligibility in Uber, Bolt, or MUV.

Buying first and asking later if the platform accepts it is an unnecessary risk.

Is a hybrid worth it for the platform?

For many urban kilometers, a hybrid is interesting because it recovers energy during braking and uses the combustion engine less in traffic. The calculation has two sides: fuel savings versus higher purchase price and battery condition. Today a hybrid Aqua costs around Gs. 60–65 million and a hybrid Corolla starts at about Gs. 95 million. Compare how much more it costs compared to a gasoline alternative, how many kilometers you will actually drive, and always ask for a diagnosis of the hybrid system.

And an SUV or a diesel for the platform?

For normal platform use, we would not buy an SUV just because it is bigger. It usually implies more consumption, more expensive tires and suspension, higher purchase price and, depending on the model, more expensive maintenance. It may make sense if the platform confirms that the vehicle qualifies for a category you need.

For the city, we would also look first at efficient gasoline cars rather than a diesel just because "it consumes less." Modern diesels have injection, turbo, and emission controls that are more expensive to repair, and short urban trips are not their ideal scenario.

What to check before buying a car for the platform

A car that will work every day deserves a more thorough inspection than one for occasional use.

  1. Confirm eligibility first: model, year, engine displacement, and equipment with Uber, Bolt, or MUV before handing over money.
  2. Test the air conditioning for several minutes: in summer, it will work for hours.
  3. Check the engine and leaks: oil, coolant, temperature, and cold noises.
  4. Check the transmission: especially automatics and CVTs.
  5. Check suspension and steering: you will be driving on uneven streets all day.
  6. Look at the tires: four new tires significantly change the real initial cost.
  7. Check brakes: pads, discs, and behavior when braking.
  8. Check airbags and ABS: do not assume they are present just because of the car's year.
  9. Do an electronic scan: especially on automatics, hybrids, and modern cars.
  10. Check green ID, registration, and history: a good price does not compensate for paperwork issues.

To delve deeper, read our guides on how to buy a used car in Paraguay, the most reliable used cars in Paraguay in 2026 and why air conditioning maintenance saves you money.

If you are going to finance the car for the platform, calculate the total cost

Working with the car to pay its own installment seems like a simple calculation, but do not just look at how much you pay per month. Your real cost includes:

  • Installment and commission: what you pay to the bank and what the platform keeps.
  • Fuel: the biggest daily expense.
  • Maintenance: oil, services, tires, brakes, and suspension.
  • Insurance and paperwork: civil liability, passenger accident policy, registration, and RUC.
  • Depreciation and unforeseen expenses: what the car loses in value and repairs you did not expect.

Conservative scenario

The car must remain affordable even if one month you work less, have a repair, or demand decreases.

On Ajogua, you can see cars with financing in Paraguay and compare options from dealerships and private sellers before deciding.

So, what is the best car for the platform in Paraguay?

  • Automatic, low consumption, and plenty of options: a Toyota Vitz 2012 or newer, checking eligibility, safety, conversion, and condition.
  • Many hours and more comfort: Hyundai Accent, Toyota Auris, or Kia Rio.
  • The lowest possible cost: Kia Picanto or Hyundai i10, accepting that they are small and almost always manuals.
  • Trunk or space: Allion, Premio, or Ractis, paying close attention to the year.
  • Comfort or Business categories: a recent Chevrolet Onix.

In all cases, we prefer a well-maintained car over a theoretically perfect but neglected model.

Frequently asked questions about platform cars in Paraguay

What is the best car for the platform in Paraguay?

For most drivers, a Toyota Vitz 2012 or newer is the starting point: low consumption, easy spare parts, and the most supply in the market. If you want more space and comfort, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Auris, and Kia Rio are very good alternatives.

What year of car do Uber, Bolt, and MUV accept in Paraguay?

When updating this guide, Uber accepts cars from 2008 onwards, Bolt from 2005, and MUV from 2000. Higher categories require newer cars: Bolt Comfort 2017 onwards in Asunción, Bolt Business 2020, and MUV Comfort 2012.

What requirements must a car meet for Uber in Paraguay?

Model 2008 or newer, engine of 1,000 cc or larger, four doors, luggage space, and UNASEV safety requirements such as dual front airbags and ABS. Always check the current requirements before buying.

What does "special for platform" mean?

It is a phrase used by sellers to indicate that the car is economical and suitable for working with apps. It is not a guarantee: confirm year, engine displacement, airbags, ABS, and air conditioning with the platform's requirements before buying.

What is the cheapest car to work on the platform?

By purchase price, Kia Picanto and Hyundai i10 are the most accessible, with units starting from about Gs. 20–30 million on Ajogua. If you want automatic, the Toyota Vitz is the option with the most supply, around Gs. 45–55 million.

Is a Toyota Vitz worth it for the platform?

It can be a very good option due to consumption, reliability, and spare parts, and it is the model with the most units for sale on Ajogua. But many Vitz are Japanese imports, so check conversion, airbags, ABS, year, engine displacement, and eligibility before buying.

Is a Toyota Allion or Premio worth it for the platform?

They are comfortable sedans with large trunks, but almost all units for sale are 2008–2011, right on the Uber limit and outside of MUV Comfort. If you buy one, consider how many more years you will be able to use it on the platform.

Is an automatic car worth it for the platform?

For many hours in traffic, it is much more comfortable. The downside is that a poorly maintained automatic transmission can be expensive to repair, so look for a unit with a transmission in good condition and verifiable maintenance.

How much can you earn working on the platform in Paraguay?
